There are two major statements made in the Bible by our Lord Jesus Christ, which differ from all the other statements He made. The first was made at the early part of His ministry but the second was made at the end of His earthly ministry. The first was a plea, the second, an order. The first was made to sinners to come and taste the goodness of the Lord but the second was made to “sinners-turned-saints” to go and tell other sinners what the Lord has done for them. The first was an invitation to “come unto me all ye that labor, and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest”, but the second was a commission to “go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the father, and of the son, and of the Holy Ghost”.
Funny as it may sound, many of us who have accepted the invitation to come have refused the commission to go. We have enjoyed the saving grace that is in Christ Jesus, but having been delivered from the power of hell, we have refused to show the way, or share our experience with those who are in the same bondage we were once in. We have turned deaf ears to God’s command to go. This is the greatest disobedience in the body of Christ today; disobedience to the Great Commission.
Soul winning is every Christian's responsibility. It is even more than a mere responsibility; it is a great privilege. We have been given the cherished honor to be partakers in the glorious task of bringing people into the eternal family of God. There is never a more significant cause to give one's life to. But many will not for once open their mouths to preach the gospel to fellow students. If every Christian leaves the job of evangelism to some Christians, we will be too surprised to see that no Christian would do what any Christian could have done, and the whole world will perish right under our noses. This book discusses why we must do it, why we don't want to do it, how to go about it and what happens if we refuse to do it. It is a book for all Christians.
